Transas iSailor 1.5.1: what’s new

November, 2012 - Dear users,

Transas iSailor version 1.5.1. is now available for download in iTunes, providing significant improvements. We hope iSailor will bring you the best possible experience whether you are using an iPhone or an iPad.

The most remarkable feature added to this version is reverse route function. Now you can easily reverse route to get back to your starting point without having to create another route.

To reverse a route you need to:
1) Create your route points
2) On the way back, simply press Reverse button and your route will be recalculated and guide you to your final destination

Taking care of our customers, we’ve adapted iSailor to fit the iPhone 5 and iOS6.
Plus, new version contains many bug fixes as well as a few new features to enjoy.

While you were sailing you boats with iSailor 1.4.6. our team was working on a new release to make your voyages more comfortable and convenient. In the first days of autumn comes the result – Transas iSailor 1.5.0. Version!

Here is the full list of the new features:
- Completely redesigned interface with multiple layouts;
- Free cursor / Locator tool;
- Waypoint monitoring: XTE and ETA parameters are added;
- Additional Electronic Range and Bearing Line tool referenced to own ship symbol;
- Support of long time track recording;

Ukrainian chart folios of coastal and inland waters also became available and cover Black Sea, the Danube River (Ukraine territory) and Dnipro River. Along with it you can download new chart folios for Inland US waters based on official U.S. Army Corps of Engineers IENC.

We are pleased to announce that Ukrainian chart folios are now available for iSailor. Last month Transas has signed a new licensing agreement with the State Hydrographic Service of Ukraine. The folios cover Black Sea, the Danube River (Ukraine territory), Dnipro River and provide the possibility to discover the coastal and inland waters. The Baltic Sea charts as well as the coastal area of Poland charts in our application are the best solution for iSailor users who decided to sail to the Championship. Folios can be purchased via Charts Store section in the iSailor app.

Transas iSailor version 1.4.5 is released

March, 2012 - A new version of Transas iSailor 1.4.5 has been released.

It includes new colour symbols for the Cardinal Marks and some IALA buoys. This version is also fully compatible with the new iPad retina display.

Transas iSailor version 1.4.4 is released (compatible with iOS 5.1)

March, 2012 - We are glad to announce that a new version of Transas iSailor 1.4.4 is now available in iTunes.
Transas implemented all necessary changes to make this version compatible with iOS 5.1. And it works!

Please note that all previously purchased chart folios could be restored absolutely for free. A hint how to do it you may find here.

We would also like to apologize for the caused inconvenience during the last week. It happened due to unexpected changes in Apple platform. As there was no prior notice from Apple, we had no chance to prepare in advance. Thanks to all our users for understanding!

Transas iSailor version 1.4.3 is released

November, 2011 - The latest version of Transas iSailor – version 1.4.3 – is now available in iTunes.

The “Location Service” problem which was reported by some users has been fixed.

In addition to that, all icons are now optimised for the use on retina display.

We would like to draw your attention to the necessity of using one login account when purchasing and restoring charts.

It shall be the same account which has been used for installation of Transas iSailor app and all in-app purchases of chart folios in Chart Store section of Transas iSailor app.

Only in this case you can use free "Restore" procedure for free download of all previously purchased folios.

Please follow this rule and you will not receive extra invoices from iTunes for the chart folios which were already bought before.

Transas iSailor 1.4.2: what’s new

October, 2011 – Transas iSailor version 1.4.2 is now available for download in iTunes, providing significant improvements in the usage of charts.

With autumn’s arrival comes the latest version of iSailor version 1.4.2. This version improves the overall user experience with the iSailor application.

In addition to minor changes and bug fixes related to performance improvement, the chart auto load mechanism makes chart’s data more informative and visualization of charts has dramatically improved.

Transas continues to improve the iSailor user experience in response to outstanding customer feedback with many new interesting changes. Stay tuned for pleasant surprises in the overall look and feel of the program.

As all current United States chart folios have been visually improved and updated, with better organization of data and an enhanced “zooming” function, we invite all current iSailor USA folio owners to upgrade their folios free of charge.

Please note that with the release of Apple iOS5, some Transas iSailor users have reported problems while attempting a download of previously purchased chart folios. Transas is working closely with Apple to resolve this issue though in the meantime the “Restore” function available in the Charts Store may be used to refresh currently installed chart folios.

Transas iSailor 1.4.0: chart updates, new features and new folios

August, 2011 – Transas iSailor 1.4.0 version is already available in iTunes. Version 1.4.0 not only brings exciting new features but provides the benefit of free chart updates as well.

A professional navigator knows that access to current charts is critical to safe navigation. With version 1.4.0, Transas provides new chart folios with upgrade and restore capability built in. Existing customers are provided with chart migration capabilities, allowing free replacement of purchased folios to the latest editions (please visit our FAQ section to learn more about the migration process).

Charts will be updated quarterly on a regular basis with the availability of an update indicated as a “red star” symbol appearing on the top panel.

Apart from the benefits of the free chart update, the latest version of Transas iSailor includes highly desirable features for the navigator. One such new feature, driven by customer feedback, is the ability to generate alarms for cross track error, waypoint and turning point approaches, and anchor alarms. Alarms are active regardless of operation in background mode, ensuring that critical alarm data is not missed.

Another highly anticipated feature is an ability to add custom User objects on the charts. Depths, obstructions, rocks, buoys and leisure facilities can be marked by the user, creating a highly personalized chart, full of required or desirable information.

Many new chart folios have just been released in response to customer request. These charts cover the coastal waters of Latin and South America, Asia, Middle East and Africa as well as many areas of the Atlantic, Indian and Pacific oceans. Many new Caribbean islands are also included. Folios are available for purchase via Charts Store section in the iSailor application.

New version of Transas iSailor 1.3.1 and new chart folios are released

June, 2011 – A new version of Transas iSailor 1.3.1 version has been released. Free marine navigation application for iPhone and iPad has been upgraded with some amazing features.

The most remarkable feature added to this version is ability to export and import routes and tracks in KML format. It makes it possible to view tracks and routes created in Transas iSailor directly on Google maps.

Chart rendering system has been significantly improved. Now users may zoom and pan with a high speed not compromising the quality of graphic representation.

Together with the software release Transas has extended the range of chart folios available for download. New folios cover coastal waters of the whole Europe: Mediterranean Sea, Adriatic Sea, Aegean Sea, Black Sea, Baltic Sea and North Sea. Transas has good news for navigators from North American continent as well: charts for Canada are released. Spending time on your boat has never been so exciting!

Transas takes very seriously the quality of the charts data. As for now, current basic chart folios are created from official hydrographical data only and might not contain detailed coastal information. However, these basic folios will be updated regularly as Transas strives to provide more detailed and most up to date charts for safe and enjoyable passages. The release of a software version with free charts updates is planned for the nearest time. Therefore, everybody who purchased the folios will get updated and complemented charts for free.

Please note that having installed Transas iSailor on both iPhone and iPad, there is no need to purchase the same chart’s folio twice. Once bought, it could be used on both devices.

Transas iSailor expands outside the US

May, 2011 – Transas iSailor launched in December 2010 expands far outside the US. Chart collection now includes the United States, UK, Ireland, Australia, New Zealand and Papua New Guinea.

Charts for Europe and the whole Mediterranean region will be released in May 2011.

Transas iSailor is a free navigation application for amateur seafarers. It operates on iPhones and iPads using built-in GPS and could be downloaded via iTunes.

Since December we have received a positive feedback from our customers as well as suggestions how to improve the product. We are thankful for all good ideas and constructive feedback which helps us performing better. iSailor undergoes continuous improvements. New features are added with every release.
